Happy Birthday, Mr. BirchMountain!

As I write this, there's a vicious attack predator stalking around the office. Determining to take the high ground in the room, she's eying the best way to get onto the shelf. But wait, she heard a noise in the living room, and she's off to investigate. She's our new kitty, Eliza. We saw her for the first time last week and fell in love with her immediately. We were able to bring her home from the humane society yesterday, and she's already fitting right into our family. She's a five month old black, brown and gray tiger cat, with a tiny bit of white below her neck. She loves to be petted, but only when she's not in the mood to play. She loves her toy mouse and ball, and has also claimed one of our small stuffed animal cats, which she attacks with a vengeance! Her favorite places so far are on the couch (preferably squished in between us, or spread out on a cushion that's just been vacated), under the bed, and last night she spent most of the night at the foot of the bed, laying against our feet. Although she's for both of us, she's really for Mr B's birthday. We're having fun today relaxing at home with Eliza. What a great way to celebrate!
